| International energy company is seeking – Analyst Energy Contracts Deal Handling, covering the Natural Gas commodity.
Close to Paddington Station, therefore must have the ability to travel to this location on a daily basis!
The purpose of the role is to support the Back Office control function within the deal cycle for gas trading. Responsibilities are to ensure that trades entered into with external counter parties and Trading Exchanges are recorded correctly in our internal system in a timely and accurate manner, to enable accurate P&L reporting, financial regulatory reporting and settlements.
Trade confirmations – Trade validations – Volume and financial reconciliations – Settlements
* Daily reconciliation of Trading Exchanges
* Daily reconciliation of Brokerage
* Daily Trade Validation in the trading system (checking Trader Deal Sheet against external platforms/brokers)
* Liaise with Traders/Brokers and internal departments within tight deadlines to resolve any deal discrepancies
* Counter party confirmations
Knowledge, experience and personal qualities required
Strong Excel (financial Excel- pivot tables and macro knowledge beneficial)
Demonstrate a keen eye for detail and awareness of reasons for tight controls within the Front to Back end life cycle of a trade.
Have knowledge of and a desire to learn more about the energy trading industry. This includes the different types of trade and the different Back Office requirements associated to each trade type.
Strong interpersonal skills for communication internally and externally.
Ability to negotiate, influence and gain acceptance and participation from other departments and with external bodies.
Strong IT skills – Endur & SAP would be highly desirable
Windows 10 (Preferred)
Have proven ability to produce results and proactively deliver, with little direction.
Be able to cover for other tasks within the department and have the ability and inclination to work as a pro-active member of the team.
Previous experience in energy (or financial) trading environment
