| Job Title: Scheme Project Manager
Duration: 6 months
•Maintain an overview of risks, trends and issues within our clients and emerging level crossing safety legislation and make arrangements for senior managers to be alerted in good time to new/proposed requirements.
•Provide project management for the routes level crossing closure and enhancement plan and provide a point of contact for other enhancement and renewal schemes that are likely to impact on level crossings.
•Maintain an overview of the routes level crossing risk reduction action plan and proactively work with all stakeholders to identify opportunities for further risk reduction. Actively pursue alternative sources of funding and alert senior managers in good time to new / proposed requirements.
•Work with the Route Level Crossing Safety Specialist to manage and review the implementation of route requirements using tools and techniques relating to level crossing safety, taking full account of economic issues, full costs (direct and indirect), benefits and practicability.
•Arrange for the provision of specialist advice on all aspects of level crossing safety and facilitate the implementation of strategies by line management and contractors to improve level crossing safety in the rail environment.
•Establish effective local networks with the safety regulator, our client's delivery managers and Professional Heads, and others to provide regular feedback on current issues and concerns about level crossing safety in the rail environment.
•Able to demonstrate significant experience in level crossing safety, working for a large multi disciplined organisation
•Detailed knowledge of relevant standards and procedures
•Knowledge of safety and compliance management processes
•Member of an appropriate professional body
•Proven experience in rail operations, maintenance or engineering
Educated to degree level
